Dr. Charles Ume serves as Professor and Director of the Advanced Electronic Packaging and Laser Processing Laboratory, at the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia and founded Akrometrix in 1993. Dr. Ume has been Chairman of AkroMetrix, LLC since 1993. Dr. Ume is also the Founder and Chairman of Intergris, LLC. He holds numerous patents and has published over 200 reviewed journal articles and books since 1985. As a prolific researcher he has mentored dozens of advanced degree students and has won numerous awards for his academic teaching skills. He received his Ph.D. in 1985 from the University of South Carolina in Mechanical Engineering, and has held the rank of Professor at Georgia Tech since 1999.
